Mr Dana Hovig has worked extensively in the development and running of family planning clinics and social franchising programs.
As Chief Executive, Dana Hovig manages Marie Stopes International programs in 40 countries including clinical services, contraceptive social marketing, project management, advocacy and consultancy.
After completing a post graduate degree in international economics at the London School of Economics, he joined the Peace Corps and lived in West Africa for five years in small villages working with women’s cooperatives and small businesses.
During the mid nineties, Mr Hovig joined Population Services International in Pakistan as country director, where he started a large clinic social franchising programme. In 2003 he joined Options, Marie Stopes International’s consultancy subsidiary as Managing Director, where he remained until joining Marie Stopes International as Deputy Chief Executive in 2005.
Mr Hovig was appointed Chief Executive in January 2007 and took over from former Chief Executive and founder of Marie Stopes International, Dr Tim Black CBE, who retired in December 2006 to become a member of the Marie Stopes International Board of Directors. |
