Each year, Marie Stopes International provides vital sexual and reproductive healthcare services to around 5 million people in 40 countries worldwide.In 2007, the Marie Stopes International Global Partnershipdirectly saved the lives of 9,000 women and 120,000 infants.

We also:

  • Delivered sustainable reproductive health services to 5 million people worldwide
  • Provided sexual and reproductive health and HIV education and training to many more millions
  • Socially marketed 129 million condoms
  • Prevented an estimated 7 million unplanned pregnancies
  • Provided technical assistance and training to governments, other NGOs and the private sector to help them achieve their reproductive health goals

Profits from Marie Stopes International centres around Australia contribute to the work of Marie Stopes International Australia (MSIA) who provide comprehensive sexual and reproductive healthcare to low income communities in Asia and the Pacific. MSIA provides program support to Cambodia, China, Fiji, Mongolia, Myanmar, Philippines, PNG and Vietnam.

Program in focus: Cambodia

Marie Stopes Cambodia (MSC), works to provide a safe and innovative approach to reproductive health, and maternal and child health care services in Cambodia.

MSC has daily contact with people requiring reproductive health care services and is involved in outreach work with highly marginalised people, including sex workers, garment and migrant workers, as well as the general population.

Marie Stopes Cambodia was established in 1997 and currently has 3 clinics with the aim of opening 2 new clinics in Battambang and Kompong Cham Provinces.

A project led by Marie Stopes Cambodia addressing HIV/AIDS through awareness raising and the provision of voluntary counselling and testing has been delivered in Cambodia, Myanmar and Vietnam over the last three years.
